This newly renovated Historical Inn is the site of the last British encampment on American Soil during the Revolutionary War. In the midst of renovations, a copy of Thomas Paine's work "Common Sense" was found in the floorboards of the farmhouse which inspired the name of the inn. Rising high atop a bluff in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, The Thomas Paine House overlooks the Sandy Hook Bay, offering stunning views of the New York City Skyline. You'll enjoy a truly unique stay in an elegant historical estate that features all of the modern amenities within the luxurious ambiance of American history. We provide the best of both worlds being just 10 minutes from the beach and a short boat ride from New York City.

The house is pristinely decorated and features many original works by famed local artist, Marilyn Church. A renowned courtroom sketch artist, collections of Church's work are held by the Library of Congress and The Smithsonian. Her work outside the courtroom is exceptional and perfectly complements the interior of the Thomas Paine House.
